Artwork Preparation Guide for Pet Business Signage and Printing in Dubai

Good artwork preparation is the difference between a smooth print order and one that needs several rounds of back-and-forth. This guide covers what veterinary clinics, pet shops, and grooming salons should have ready before ordering signage, ID badges, stamps, labels, or stationery.

1. Get Your Logo Into a Usable Format

If you already have a logo, the most useful files to have on hand are:

  • A vector file (such as AI, EPS, or PDF) if one exists — this scales cleanly to any size, from a small stamp to a large storefront sign.
  • A high-resolution raster file (such as a large PNG or JPG) if a vector file isn't available.

If you don't have a logo yet, it's worth settling on a simple, clean design before ordering signage — retrofitting a new logo onto printed materials later means reprinting everything.

2. Lock Down Your Brand Colors

Write down (or ask your designer for) the exact color values you use — ideally as HEX or CMYK codes rather than "the blue from our website," since screen colors and print colors don't always match exactly. Using the same color codes across your signage, business cards, labels, and stamps keeps your brand looking consistent whether a client sees your storefront sign or a product label on a shelf.

3. Decide What Text Needs to Appear Where

Different items need different information:

  • Storefront and sidewalk signage: business name, and sometimes a tagline, hours, or contact number.
  • Reception/wayfinding signage: room names or directional labels (e.g., "Consultation Room 1," "Grooming Station A," "Retail").
  • ID badges: staff name, role/title, and sometimes a small photo.
  • Business cards: name, role, phone/WhatsApp, email, and address.
  • Retail product labels: product name and any details relevant to that specific product category — confirm what's expected for your product type with the relevant UAE authority before finalizing label copy, since requirements can differ by product.

Listing this out before you start avoids last-minute additions that can delay layout approval.

4. Consider Legibility and Distance

Signage that looks fine on a screen doesn't always read well from a distance or at an angle. As a general rule, keep text short and high-contrast for anything meant to be read from the street or across a room — save longer descriptive text for items read up close, like labels, business cards, or letterheads.

5. Double-Check Business Details Before Production

Before anything goes to print, confirm:

  • Correct spelling of your business name (including any Arabic-language version if you use one).
  • Correct address, especially if you're a new business and the address was only recently finalized.
  • Correct phone/WhatsApp number and any social handles you want included.
  • Whether your trade license name should appear exactly as registered on official documents like letterheads.

Small errors here are the most common reason for reprints, and they're the easiest to catch with a quick review before approval.

6. Provide Reference Examples If You Have a Look in Mind

If you've seen a signage style, color combination, or layout you like — even from a completely different industry — sharing a reference image or link helps our team understand your preference quickly, rather than guessing from a text description alone.
