Most delays and reprints on invitation card orders come from a small number of avoidable issues. Working through this checklist before you submit final artwork saves time on both sides.
Wording
- Event date, start time and, if relevant, end time
- Full venue name and address, spelled exactly as it should appear (double-check against the venue's own materials)
- RSVP method and deadline, whether that's a phone number, email, or online form
- Dress code or any other guest instructions, if applicable
- Host or company names spelled and formatted consistently throughout
Design Files
- Logos or monograms supplied as vector files (AI, EPS or a high-resolution PDF) wherever possible
- Specific colour references (Pantone or CMYK codes) if you need to match existing branding or a wedding colour palette
- Any photos supplied at full resolution, not compressed or resized for social media
Proofing
- Read every date, time and address aloud, or have a second person check it — it's easy to miss an error in text you've already read several times
- Confirm names are spelled correctly, especially for formal titles or hyphenated names
- Check that the RSVP deadline gives guests a reasonable window before the event
- Approve a physical or high-resolution digital proof before the full run goes to print
Quantities
- Confirm your guest list or estimated quantity, with a small buffer for keepsakes, last-minute additions or printing variance
- Decide whether you need matching envelopes, RSVP cards or thank-you cards printed at the same time
