Place box artwork on the confirmed cutting and folding layout. A flat design that looks balanced on screen can put important text on the wrong panel when the box is assembled.
Identify the visible panels
Mark the front, back, sides, opening and base before laying out the artwork. Decide how the product will stand on a shelf or be handed over. Check which way text faces on every panel, including the lid. The printer should know whether you expect any inside printing.
Keep artwork clear of structural areas
Use the supplied layout and its specified bleed and safe areas. Keep essential text and codes away from folds, cuts and joins unless the layout explicitly allows them. Do not guess a universal bleed value or scale an old dieline to a new box; ask for the correct file for the confirmed construction.
Approve each product version
Review names, sizes, ingredients or other supplied product information, codes and quantities against your order list. Look at a folded mock-up or sample when panel orientation is unclear. Approve the final artwork file by version and date so an older file cannot be confused with the one intended for production.
