How to Fit a Nissan Plate Frame Without Drilling: A Step-by-Step Guide

How to Fit a Nissan Plate Frame Without Drilling: A Step-by-Step Guide

Every frame in the DXBStamps Nissan plate frame range, from the Patrol to the GTR, is designed to fit using strong adhesive tape rather than drilling or screws. The fitting process is the same whether you are fitting a frame to a family Patrol or a dedicated GTR build.

Step 1: Confirm You Have the Right Model and Fit

Before fitting, double-check that the frame you have ordered matches your exact model and trim, since fitting cannot fix a mismatched frame. Our guide on choosing between Patrol, Safari and sports models is worth checking first if you have not already confirmed the right option.

Step 2: Clean the Plate Area

Adhesive only bonds properly to a clean, dry surface. Wipe down the area around the plate to remove dust, road grime and any wax or polish residue, and allow it to dry completely before moving on. This matters just as much for a Patrol that has been off-road recently as it does for a showroom-fresh GTR.

Step 3: Dry-Fit Before Committing the Adhesive

Hold the frame in place around the plate first, without removing the adhesive backing, to check that it sits evenly on all sides. This is the point to catch a sizing issue before the adhesive is applied.

Step 4: Apply the Frame with Firm, Even Pressure

Peel back the adhesive backing, position the frame carefully, and press firmly along its full length rather than just at the corners, so the adhesive makes complete contact with the surface.

Step 5: Give the Adhesive Time to Cure

Avoid car washes or heavy rain exposure for the first day where possible, and avoid touching or repositioning the frame once it has been placed, since the adhesive reaches full strength gradually rather than instantly.

Fitting in Dubai's Climate

The frames themselves are made from weather-resistant materials built for heat, dust and outdoor exposure, but fitting on a very hot surface can affect how the adhesive sets initially. Fitting in shade or during a cooler part of the day, rather than immediately after the car has been sitting in direct sun, gives the best result.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is fitting different for a Patrol compared to a GTR or Z model?

No. The fitting process is the same across the range, since all frames use the same adhesive mounting system regardless of model.

Do I need any tools?

No. The frames are designed for adhesive fitting only, with no drilling or screws required.

What if the frame doesn't sit flush after fitting?

This is usually a sign of a size mismatch rather than a fitting error. Contact our team to confirm the correct size for your model.
