Spot UV for a gloss contrast
Use selective gloss on an element that benefits from contrast, such as a logo or a simple pattern. Confirm the underlying stock and coating with the printer. A preview on a screen cannot show how the gloss changes as the card moves in the light.
Foil for selected details
Foil can suit a logo, name or short accent. Keep the important contact details easy to read and ask whether fine lines or small text need adjustment. Agree the foil colour and the areas to receive it in the finishing artwork.
Letterpress for a pressed impression
Letterpress creates a tactile impression. The result depends on the artwork and the selected stock, so ask to review an appropriate sample. Compare all three finishes using the same quantity and card specification when assessing quotations.
