Use individual 3D letters when the letter shapes and depth are part of the look. A flat panel can be a more straightforward place to carry a logo with small wording or several details.
Check what the logo contains
Look for fine strokes, detached dots, small symbols and a tagline. Each separate shape may need its own physical construction or fixing when cut as a letter. A design that reads well on a business card does not automatically translate into individual mounted parts at every size.
Compare the full layout
Request a layout showing the complete wordmark at its proposed width. Consider the wall finish, shadows and the viewing position. A panel also provides a defined background, while separate letters leave the wall exposed. Neither format is automatically better; the choice depends on the logo and its setting.
Compare quotations on the same basis
Ask for the material, depth, face and side finish, mounting method and lighting to be identified. Check whether fitting is included. Comparing only the overall width can conceal different constructions. For an illuminated result, include a light-effect reference and use the Backlit Signage service to discuss it.
