Size the Quantity to Footfall, Not to the Stand Budget Line
A small stand at a busy hall can go through more pens in a day than a large stand at a quiet one. Estimate quantity from expected footfall and the length of the show, not from a round number that looks tidy on a budget sheet.
Match the Pen to the Giveaway Tier

Plan Pens Alongside the Rest of the Stand

After the Show
Keep a small reserve of the higher-tier pens for post-show follow-up meetings with the leads collected on-site — a pen handed over in a second meeting reads very differently to a pen picked up from a bowl on day one.
