Start with the information a customer needs to read, then choose the brochure format. A fold should help the reader follow the offer and find your contact details.

Group the content before designing
Separate the introduction, services or products, practical details and contact information. Decide which message belongs on the cover. If the text already feels crowded in these groups, shorten it or discuss a larger format before setting type.
Plan what appears when it opens
A folded brochure has a reading sequence that differs from a simple document. Mark the front, back and inside panels on a paper mock-up. Ask the printer for the panel dimensions of the proposed fold rather than divide the sheet equally yourself.
Check the finished size
Measure where the brochure will sit, such as a display holder or presentation folder. Request the finished folded size as well as the open size in the quote. Review paper and fold suitability together before committing to the layout.
