Check clear-label artwork against the actual packaging colour. Transparent areas show what is underneath, which can change the contrast of the design.
Use a photo of the filled container
A clear bottle filled with a dark product can look very different from the empty bottle used during design. Send a photo of the filled pack in ordinary lighting. Check the smallest text, pale colours and any fine lines. The same artwork may need adjustment across clear, amber and dark containers.
Identify where opacity matters
Tell the printer which elements must remain solid, especially white lettering, pale logos or a barcode background. Ask what printing options are available for those areas. Do not assume a white area on your screen represents white ink; it may simply be the document background.
Judge the finished appearance on the pack
A clear label still has a film edge and finish. Apply a sample carefully to a clean, suitable surface and look for bubbles, edge visibility and readable text. Check the label from the distance at which a customer will normally handle it. Approve the material and artwork together when the background affects the result.
