A border gives the cutter room around a detailed logo and can make the sticker easier to peel. Choose it on a proof at the actual printed size.
Start with the full logo
Use the original vector file or a clear print-ready PDF when available. Keep lettering and important details inside the intended sticker edge. If the logo has separate dots, thin strokes or isolated letters, discuss one surrounding outline rather than assuming every tiny detail can be cut as a separate shape.
Compare the border against the destination
A white border can separate a busy logo from coloured packaging; a closely fitted outline changes the appearance again. Check both the sticker and the surface underneath. Avoid choosing the border only against the white background of your design software. Ask the printer to confirm the cutting allowance for the chosen material and process.
Approve one clearly marked outline
Send a file that distinguishes the cut path from artwork that should print. Mark the finished dimensions and show which areas are intended to remain blank. If you have several logo versions, identify each one and its quantity. Keep the approved proof so the next batch follows the same shape.
