Provide the mounting surface, indoor or outdoor position and expected exposure to cleaning, moisture or contact. State how the sign will be attached and whether it needs to be moved. These details help the supplier check the proposed print and substrate against the actual use instead of choosing by appearance alone.
Name special requirements explicitly
Reflective, illuminated and photoluminescent signs are different products. Do not assume a printed colour or glossy surface provides any particular visibility performance. Ask the responsible site professional to supply the required specification and supporting-document requirements, then have the supplier confirm whether those can be met.
Compare the confirmed specification
Ask for the substrate, dimensions, print or finish and fixing arrangement to be stated in the quote. Check any certificates or performance documents against the exact offered product when your project requires them.
