A screen emits light, while printed colour depends on ink, the material and the light falling on it. Treat a screen preview as a layout check rather than an exact colour sample.

Share the colour reference
Send the approved brand colour references and explain which colours matter most. A phone screenshot is a weak reference because screens and brightness settings differ. If matching a previous print, provide the physical sample where possible.
Discuss the paper
Paper colour and surface finish can affect how a design appears. Ask about the stock proposed for the job and compare a relevant sample. A design printed on a different material may need its own colour review.
Choose the right proof
For colour-sensitive work, ask what physical proof or sample can be provided and whether it uses the intended production process and stock. Confirm its cost and timing. Approve colour expectations separately from spelling and layout.
