Tell the printer both when the label is applied and how the package is stored. A label applied to a dry room-temperature container faces different conditions from one applied to a cold or damp surface.
Describe the full packing routine
Explain whether the product is packed warm, chilled after labelling, frozen, or moved repeatedly between conditions. Give the relevant temperatures when known. Include condensation, wiping and transport handling. These details help the supplier check the film or paper, adhesive and print finish together.
Keep contact location clear
State whether the label sits on the outside of sealed packaging or could contact the food. Do not assume ordinary packaging labels are suitable for direct food contact. If your use has a specific material requirement, supply it and request confirmation before production.
Test the finished combination
Use the intended container and a finished label under representative conditions. Check adhesion, appearance and readability after handling. Scan any barcode using the intended system. Record the material and application process that passed the check; changing either may require another test even when the artwork stays the same.
