Test a finished label on the real container under the conditions it will encounter. A test on a clean glass sample may not represent your coated plastic bottle.
Prepare comparable samples
Use the intended container and application method. Record whether the surface was dry, its temperature and how it was cleaned. Apply the label without changing the normal packing process just to improve the result. Ask the supplier what settling time the adhesive needs before exposure.
Reproduce the relevant exposure
For condensation, use the actual chill-and-return cycle. For wiping, use the intended cloth and cleaner. Check oil or cream contact separately when it is part of normal use. Avoid treating a brief splash as evidence for prolonged soaking, dishwashing or outdoor exposure.
Inspect and record the result
Look at lifted corners, bubbles, print rubbing and readability. Scan any barcode with the intended equipment. Photograph the result and note the exposure conditions, time and label specification. Share a failed result with the printer before changing the artwork or ordering more; the material or application process may need adjustment.
