Plan a Receipt Book Your Team Can Fill In

Build the receipt layout around the information staff record when a payment arrives. Use a current receipt or a rough sketch to explain the fields and the space each one needs.

List the fields used in practice

Start with the business details, receipt number, date, payer, amount, payment method and a description or reference. Add signature fields if your workflow uses them. Confirm required wording with the person responsible for your accounts.

Leave room for handwriting

Try filling in the proposed layout using a realistic long customer name and payment description. Make sure staff can record amounts without squeezing digits into a small box. Ask for an actual-size proof before approving the layout.

Choose the copy arrangement

Decide who receives the original and each copy. State whether you need duplicate or triplicate NCR sheets and which pages should stay in the book. Confirm numbering, page size and books per order together.
