Opening a driving school in Dubai involves RTA licensing, instructor accreditation and vehicle approval — all of which sit outside what a printing company can advise on. This checklist focuses specifically on the branding and printed-materials side, which is worth planning alongside the licensing process rather than after it.
Confirm the Basics First
Before ordering anything, confirm your licensed trading name, branch address and RTA approval status, since these will appear on signage, stationery and ID cards. Reordering signage because a detail changed after printing is one of the more avoidable costs in a launch budget.
A Suggested Order of Priorities
1. Business Stationery
Business cards and letterhead are usually needed earliest, since enrolment agreements and early partner communication often start before the branch itself is finished.
2. Reception Signage
A clear wall sign naming the school gives the branch a finished look for its first walk-in visitors, even before every internal process is fully running.
3. Student ID Cards
Once enrolment is open, student ID cards are typically the first recurring print order a school places, and it's worth finalising the card format (see our artwork checklist) before the first intake rather than after.
4. Instructor Badges and Vehicle Signage
These typically follow once instructors are confirmed and training vehicles are on-site, since badge names and vehicle details need to be final before printing.
5. Stamps and Internal Records
A dater stamp or company stamp for attendance logs and internal paperwork is usually the last item added, once day-to-day processes are running.
What This Guide Doesn't Cover
Trade licensing, RTA institute approval, instructor accreditation and vehicle compliance are handled by the RTA and other government bodies, and requirements can change — always confirm the current process directly with the RTA rather than relying on third-party summaries, including this one.
