A workshop's logo usually ends up on more different surfaces than most businesses realise – a rigid outdoor sign, a soft vinyl sticker, a laminated ID card, and a carbonless invoice book, all at different sizes and printed with different methods. Getting the source artwork right up front saves a round of revisions later.
Vector first, if you have it
If your logo exists as a vector file (.ai, .eps or .svg), send that version rather than a JPEG or PNG pulled from your website. Vector files scale cleanly from a small ID card up to a large A-frame or wall sign without losing sharpness, which a low-resolution raster image can't do.
If you only have a raster logo
If a vector file doesn't exist, the highest-resolution version you have is the next best thing – ideally the original file rather than one saved from a website or social media page, since those are often compressed. Let us know at the time of order if your only source is a small web logo, since we may need to redraw it as a vector before it can be used on larger signage.
Colour consistency across materials
The same logo colour can look slightly different printed on vinyl versus a laminated ID card versus a carbonless invoice book, simply because of how each material takes ink. If exact colour matching across every item matters to your brand, mention this upfront so we can flag where a Pantone or CMYK reference would help keep things consistent.
What to prepare for invoice books specifically
Beyond your logo, carbonless job cards and invoice books usually need: your business name and contact details as they should appear on the form, the fields you want on the job card (customer details, vehicle details, work performed, parts used), and confirmation of how many copies per set (commonly two or three – office, customer, workshop file).
A simple pre-order checklist
- Vector logo file, or the highest-resolution raster version available
- Business name and contact details exactly as they should appear
- Any colour references you want matched
- For invoice books: the fields and number of copies you need per job card
Once your artwork is ready, see our ordering checklist for the suggested sequence, or head to the workshop printing package page to get started.
