If you're setting up or refreshing a car rental business in Dubai, printing and branding decisions fall into three groups: the fleet, the counter, and the paperwork. Here's how to work through each one without over-ordering or missing something you'll need on day one.
1. Start with the fleet
Every rental car benefits from a branded number plate frame — it's the cheapest, fastest way to make a fleet identifiable without touching RTA advertising rules that apply to larger vehicle graphics. If you run a mixed fleet, order frames sized to each vehicle's actual plate rather than assuming one size fits all. Reserve door decals or full wraps for a small number of vehicles you use for airport meet-and-greet or marketing — see our comparison guide on plate frames vs full wraps for the trade-offs.
2. Get the counter right
Your pick-up desk is where customers judge whether the business feels professional. Budget for reception signage with your logo, a rate/terms board, and clear directional signage if your desk isn't at street level (car park level, terminal signage, etc). Name badges for counter staff are a small detail that customers consistently notice.
3. Don't forget the paperwork
Rental agreements, damage inspection forms and handover checklists all move faster with a self-inking company stamp rather than a signature alone — it's faster at a busy counter and harder to dispute. Pair this with business cards for any staff handling corporate or long-term rental accounts, since those customers expect a card, not just a WhatsApp number.
4. Staff ID and access
Staff ID cards matter more for rental businesses than many other retail setups, because your team is frequently off-site — meeting customers at hotels, the airport, or a customer's office for vehicle handover. A visible ID card reassures a customer handing over a deposit or documents to someone they've just met.
A simple order of priority
- Number plate frames for the full fleet
- Reception and rate signage for the counter
- Company stamp(s) for contracts and forms
- Staff ID cards and name badges
- Business cards for account-facing staff
- Vehicle decals or wraps for a small "hero" subset of the fleet, if needed
