Prepare a Catalogue Page Count and Binding Brief

Prepare a Catalogue Page Count and Binding Brief

Confirm what the page count includes before requesting a catalogue quote. Covers, blank pages and inserts can change the specification and the binding options.

For print options and an order enquiry, visit Catalogue Printing.

Count the complete document

List the cover separately from the inside pages and state whether the total includes both. Mark intentional blank pages. If some pages use different stock, identify them in the brief instead of leaving the printer to infer it from the file.

Discuss binding with the sample content

Send the finished size and page count before choosing a binding. The suitable option depends on those details and the paper. Ask how the catalogue will open and how much space to leave near the binding edge.

Check the quote against the file

Match the quoted size, inside-page count, cover stock and quantity to the final document. Tell the printer if pages are added after the quote. Approve the final binding and delivery date after the content is settled.
