Compare packaging quotations against the same size, construction, artwork and quantity. A lower total may describe a different pack or leave out a component you expected.
Match the physical specification
Check whether each quote uses the same inside dimensions, material and opening style. Confirm whether boxes are supplied assembled or flat, if applicable. For bags, compare the finished dimensions and handle specification. Ask about any item described only as standard when its appearance or performance matters to your order.
Check what is included
Printing on one face is a different brief from printing several panels. Compare the stated printed areas, finishes and artwork preparation. List inserts, lids, strings and other accessories separately. Do the same for proofing, samples, packing and delivery so you can see what is included and what still needs a price.
Compare the same delivery requirement
Give every supplier the same quantity per design, artwork status and required arrival date. Ask when production timing starts and what approvals are needed first. Keep the confirmed specification beside the approved artwork. If the specification changes to meet a budget, get the revised details recorded before approving the order.
